Kosta Legal advises the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) on the financing of Uzbektelecom

Kosta Legal has acted as Uzbek legal counsel to the AIIB in connection with a CNY loan facility of up to USD 100 million equivalent to Uzbektelecom JSC, the country’s largest telecommunications operator.

The financing will support the expansion of Uzbekistan’s digital infrastructure, including upgrades to 3G and 4G networks and the rollout of nationwide fiber-optic connectivity.

Our team, led by Partner Shukhrat Yunusov, with support from Associate Dilshodbek Orifjonov, advised AIIB on all Uzbek law aspects of the transaction – including due diligence, regulatory analysis, and transaction execution – ensuring full compliance with Uzbekistan’s legal framework.
